Becoming Australia's Most Muscular Woman; the IFBB controversy

The Controversy Begins: 1995 Australasian Championships

"When Christine Envall sauntered on stage, she won it hands down in my book (and everyone else's except the judges)."

"....little did they expect the shock that would occur at the afternoon show when Christine placed third!  The audience erupted into a cacophony of booing."

A close call: 1995 Southern States Championships

"Christine was ripped from head to toe.  The muscles started at her traps and tumbled past her loaded guns and washboard abs all the way down to her cows.  Throw in a side order of shredded arms and flaring thighs and you had a woman who belonged on a much more prestigious (perhaps even international) stage"

"Chris is huge and should be competing overseas, no doubt about it."

Outside the Guidelines: 1995 Australian Championships

"This was to be the most controversial division of the day with Christine Envall once again being just too big to win and is certainly Australia's Most Muscular Woman.  This may sound like a contradiction in terms, however the body that Christine presents is definitely outside the amateur guidelines."

Australia's Most Muscular  Woman

"She is like a new Bev Francis in as much as she is huge and way ahead of her time."

"She has a big future ahead of her"

"Following the contest the promoters and committee bestowed upon Christine the title of Australia's Most Muscular Woman."

NOTE:  Despite being declared outside the amateur guidelines, the NPC Australia refused to nominate me for my IFBB Pro card.  Despite numerous discussions nothing has been resolved so I choose to compete for NABBA where I do not fall outside any supposed 'guidelines'.
